The early Saints held many of their meetings outdoors in open-air groves since they had no official meeting place. Joseph Smith gave many of his sermons in groves just like these, which are set up to commemorate the early meetings. In the groves are several plaques that have inspiring accounts from the early Saints, and there is a meeting area set up which shows how the meeting places would have looked.
