Activities to do in Nauvoo
Trail of Hope
The trail of hope starts at Parley Street West of the
Seventies Hall and goes toward the Mississippi river. This path contains 30
different markers that contain inspirational quotes from the early pioneers. At
the end of the path there is a pioneer memorial that contains the names of
pioneers that died along the way. It is always open and you can go at your
leisure.
Carriage Ride to Inspiration Point
This 45 minute carriage right takes you from just north of
the visitors’ center to inspiration point. You will hear inspirational stories
and view the beautiful scenery. A free ticket is required which can be picked
up at the Historic Nauvoo Visitors’
Center the day of your trip.
Wagon Tour of Old Nauvoo
This horse drawn wagon is a wonderful way to see the old
sites of Nauvoo. This 1-hour guided tour takes you through the streets of
Nauvoo where you can learn about all the different sites. There is a free
ticket required that can be obtained at the Historic Nauvoo Visitors’ Center on the day of your trip. The
wagon will pick passengers up at the corner of Partridge and Hubbard Streets.
Pioneer Pastimes
From about April
till mid October (weather permitting) there are opportunities to experience different
things that the pioneers did to entertain themselves. These activities are
located on Main Street south of Scovil Bakery. For a list of the activities

Oxen & Wagon Ride
This 15 minute wagon
ride is a fun way to experience the Mormon trail. The oxen and wagon ride is
located on Main Street West of the Historic Nauvoo Visitors’ Center.
